There are always going to be others who make us squirm … personality traits, sound of their voice, how they talk, etc. Sometimes we squirm with good reason. Sometimes it’s because we’re petty and ugly inside.

Can you imagine what things could be like if we’d take that energy and pray FOR them instead of about them? Isn’t praying for the one who irritates you most a form of love?

I’ve found when someone is really under my skin, soon after I begin to pray for them, I get peace, and I’m able to love them as I should.

I’ve often pondered whether those irritations with others were actually promptings by the Holy Spirit–to notice my shortcomings, then a leading to pray so I could love as I should?

Galatians 5:14-15
For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you are always biting and devouring one another, watch out! Beware of destroying one another.
